Raising much needed funds for the Cure Cancer Foundation

Whether it is via donations, fundraising initiatives or volunteering for not for profit organisations at KSG we like to give back to our local community.

Recently Kym Cousins embarked on an adventure which saw her challenged both physically and mentally as well as raise over $5,000 for a fantastic charity and KSG was happy to help.

Raising funds for the Cure Cancer Foundation Kym trekked to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa. Kym’s two week trip to Africa included a visit to an orphanage in Tanzania, camping amongst the animals in the Serengeti and of course the descent from the mountain. Due to the high altitude of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa (5,895 metres) and some 3 times the height of our own Mt Kosciuszko, Kym found the summit attempt rather difficult due to the lack of oxygen. Kym enjoyed the hike and stopped along the way to photograph the beautiful scenery and wildflowers.

Amongst Kym’s many lessons learnt along this adventure was the importance of turning a dream into a reality by setting a goal, planning and executing the plan – oh and some hard work and persistence. “You only regret what you don’t do!”

Kym’s raised an amazing $5,536 for Cure Cancer Foundation and KSG were happy to donate $800 towards a very worthy cause.
